If you’re looking for a quiet spot to get work done amidst the hustle and bustle of central Kuala Lumpur, the Bean Brothers is the place to be.

This oasis-like café is full of lush greenery and natural light and is equipped with speedy Wi-Fi and charging points throughout the spacious seating area. Enjoy a warm cup of coffee for RM 10, and pair it with a croissant for RM 6.

What I like best about this place is its warm and friendly atmosphere. Students, remote workers, pets, and patrons of all ages are welcome here.

2. VCR

VCR is a cozy café located in the heart of KL City and is the perfect place to go for a caffeine fix and some creative inspiration for your work or studies.

You can taste the “brew of the day” for RM 13 and munch on some VCR house salad for RM 22.

Did you know that this café was built in 1927? I love that there’s lots of traditional architecture to gaze upon. The place has been given a modern twist though—this includes adding charging outlets and free Wi-Fi.

3. The Hub Coffee Roasters

The Hub isn’t your ordinary café—coffee beans from all over the world are roasted right here, with over 30 varieties for you to savor!

Grab a latte or cappuccino for RM 13 and plop down on one of the many comfy seating options. There’s Wi-Fi, natural lighting, and several charging points as well.

This cool café has a clean Japanese minimalist design that’s easy on the eyes. Coffee lovers and remote workers, like me, will feel right at home!

Nestled between the bustling shops and restaurants on a popular Malaysian hangout spot called The Row, is a quaint little café—Common Grind.

As you step inside, you’ll instantly be greeted by polished wooden tables, soft cushioned seats, and the welcoming aroma of coffee. A caramel latte costs RM 12 here, and a warm meal is around RM 22.

I appreciate the Common Grind’s super-helpful staff, work-friendly plug points, and well-maintained restrooms—perfect for a long study or work session!

Whether you need a comfy seat for a solo work session, a long table for group meetings, or a private room with a projector, Kofi by 77 has them all plus some fantastic coffee and free Wi-Fi!

This hidden gem in Mont Kiara specializes in coffee from Papua New Guinea. A cup of the Signature by 77 espresso costs RM 12.

What attracted me the most about this place is its bright bay windows overlooking the gorgeous green landscape outside. What a refreshing sight to see during screen breaks!

6. Feeka Coffee Roasters


Feeka got its name from the Swedish word, Fika, which means “to take a break.” With this café’s soothing music, homey vibe, and ideal lighting, it would be hard not to unwind.

If you do decide to get some work done, there’s excellent free Wi-Fi, an abundance of wall plugs, and freshly brewed coffee which costs an average of RM 10.

After a productive work session, I like to treat myself to something sweet. Feeka’s famous chocolate tart is perfect for just that!

7. Vintage 1988 Café


Work or study in style at V88, a vibrant vintage café with delectable coffee, delicious food, and a well-deserved reputation as one of Kuala Lumpur’s most Instagram-worthy coffee shops.

Grab a cup of joe for RM 11 and enjoy the spacious seating area and swift Wi-Fi.

My favorite part about Vintage 1988 is the laid-back and worker-friendly ambiance that lets you relax, eat, drink, and do your work in peace.

28 Fireplace is a roadside café famous for its Australian specialty coffee and comfort food with a twist, which will surely give you the energy boost and focus you need to complete all your tasks.

A cup of flavorful and freshly roasted goodness costs around RM 13, and Wi-Fi on the premises is free to use for everyone.

If you ever feel lonely while working or studying, this place has two cute cats that are happy to keep you company!

Located in the historic heart of Kuala Lumpur, LOKL has a nostalgic vibe, mouthwatering fusion cuisine, and excellent coffee that attracts both locals and tourists.

Step inside to see the beautiful high ceilings and vintage decor, and order the local “Kopi” for RM 7.5. Outside, there’s an al fresco sitting area designed like a concrete jungle, complete with top-notch Wi-Fi and charging ports.

I like that LOKL opens as early as 8 AM daily, perfect for productive mornings.

Need a place to unwind and clear your mind? Pause Café offers just that, plus some tasty coffee, homemade desserts, and a quiet environment that welcomes both pets and laptops!

The rose latte at this coffee shop looks, smells, and tastes phenomenal, for a fair price of RM 14.

When I visited Pause Café, I was amazed by their worker-friendly staff who helped me find a nice spot with an outlet so that I could settle down and type away.

The place serves seasonal in-house roast coffee for RM 10, and the pasta, eggs, and French toast here are exceptional and reasonably priced.

Upon entering, you’ll instantly spot numerous power outlets and feel the serene atmosphere that’s conducive to focused work or intense study sessions.

19. First Step Coffee Malaysia


First Step Coffee Malaysia is a rustic library-concept café. The place is filled with private tables nestled in between bookshelves, creating lots of cozy distraction-free spaces.

Try their “cake of the day” for RM 12, and add RM 9 for a creamy latte. Yum!

If you get hungry in the midst of a study session, this place serves fantastic sandwiches and brunch food. Each work table has a personal outlet, and the Wi-Fi is reliable and ready to use.

20. Jing-Si Books & Café


There’s no better place to hit the books than at a book café, like Jing-Si! The environment here is peaceful and quiet, and you’re surrounded by bookshelves, making it a haven for learners.

You can grab an Americano for RM 8 or sip a steaming cup of Oolong tea for RM 11.

There are plenty of things I like about Jing-Si: the Chinese architecture, affordable drinks, spotless restrooms, many sockets to power up your devices, and free parking in the basement.

Best Cafés for Lattes and Laptops in Kuala Lumpur

Malaysia’s capital city has much to offer when it comes to laptop-friendly cafés where you can have a good time while getting work done.

My personal favorite will always be LOKL Coffee Co. for its beautiful al fresco sitting area, convenient amenities, flavorful food, and great-tasting coffee to help me get through the day.

First Step Coffee Malaysia is another one of my top picks. Being in a library-concept café ensures that I’ll have a productive workday while having my daily fix of caffeine and pastries.

When I’m in Mont Kiara, Kofi by 77 is my go-to spot for some Papa New Guinean coffee, accessible Wi-Fi and plug points, and a refreshing view of green landscapes.
